Man Utd midfielder signs new contract

Manchester United have this morning announced that Scott McTominay has signed a new contract, keeping him at the club until June 2025, with the option to extend for a further year.

The 23-year-old has started 19 Premier League matches under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this season, scoring four goals. He has made a further four starts in the Europa League and one in the FA Cup. In the months prior to the disruption the midfielder had formed a good partnership alongside Fred.

McTominay is a product of our famed youth academy and has been at the club since 2012. He has gone on to make 75 appearances for the first team.

The 6’4″ midfielder has proven to be a useful player in aerial battles and has been most consistent in the middle of the park for us, compared to Paul Pogba, Fred and Nemanja Matic.

He has proven to be very good at winning the ball back for the Red Devils, both via tackles and interceptions and doesn’t even pick up too many yellow cards either.

Scott McTominay has also represented the Scottish senior national team on 12 occasions to date. They are still in the play-offs for qualification to Euro 2021, alongside Norway, Serbia and Israel.
