Man Utd midfielder set to be offered £100,000-a-week deal

Last summer Manchester United tied Marouane Fellaini down to a new two-year contract at Old Trafford.

The Belgian international had previously been strongly linked with a move away from the record champions of England and it was only at the last minute that a deal was announced.

Fellaini has made only six Premier League starts during our first 21 games this season and played just three minutes under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer during his four games in charge.

It appears that the 31-year-old could be on his way out of Old Trafford as early as this month, as, according to Turkish source AMK Spor, Fenerbahce are preparing a 1.5-year contract worth €7.5 million to bring the player to Turkey.

At the midway point of the 2018-19 Turkish Super Lig, Fenerbahce are actually second bottom having finished runners-up last season.

With Fellaini’s services not required under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, a move to Turkey could certainly be possible this month. The caretaker manager has opted for the likes of Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic, Ander Herrera and Fred in his central midfield instead, whilst Scott McTominay has been sidelined during his early days in charge.

The Belgium international’s style certainly doesn’t suit the Norwegian’s tactics either. We are keeping the ball on the ground these days and moving it quickly. Under Jose Mourinho, Fellaini was used mostly as a substitute to deal with long balls at either end.

Maraoune Fellaini is believed to be earning around £100,000-a-week, so Fenerbahce would need to match these wages in order to persuade the fall midfielder to join them this month, you would expect.
