Manchester United have already made an enquiry for Boca Juniors wonderkid Aaron Anselmino, according to Argentine outlet TyC Sports.
The 18-year-old made his debut in the back end of last season and he has already managed five appearances for the South American giants.
The young centre-back recently signed a contract until 2028, but interested clubs could still prise him away due to the low €18.5 million release clause.
It is now reported that United have already made contact with Boca for the teenager and they are preparing to make an approach for his services.
Anselmino would fit into Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s transfer policy
The youngster has made only three league appearances for Boca so far, but he has caught the eye with his impressive distribution and defensive attributes.
Anselmino has had a pass accuracy of 85 per cent, winning 68 per cent of his aerial and ground duels.
The centre-back has won 2.7 tackles per game alongside 2.3 clearances and 3.7 ball recoveries.
His initial impression has been pretty good and it is unsurprising United are keen on signing him.
The teenager would fit into the transfer policy of Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who is likely to prioritise signing young and emerging talents over experienced stars.
The Red Devils will need to be proactive in the transfer pursuit, considering AC Milan are also interested in landing the highly-rated Anselmino this summer.
Anselmino may not be considered as an assured starter due to his inexperience and United could also look to sign a young and established centre-back.
The club have a keen interest in landing Benfica’s Antonio Silva, but the Portuguese starlet won’t come on the cheap with a release clause of €100m in his deal.
United seem prepared to part ways with Raphael Varane when his contract expires on June 30. Jonny Evans could likewise head for the exit door on a free.
