Man Utd lose another player to injury

Manchester United head to Huddersfield Town for this afternoon’s game at the St John Smith’s Stadium with six injuries.

Jose Mourinho was without Eric Bailly, Paul Pogba, Marouane Fellaini, Michael Carrick, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcos Rojo heading into today’s game.

The Portuguese coach was handed a further blow midway through the first half at Huddersfield Town as Phil Jones went off through injury.

Phil Jones was replaced by Victor Lindelof on 23 minutes with what appeared to be a left quad injury with the scoreline 0-0.  The England international had played every single minute for us in the Premier League this season up to this point.  Chris Smalling is the other ceentre-back playing today.

Sweden international Lindelof made his Premier League debut at the end of our 0-0 draw at Liverpool last weekend.

This means we are finishing today’s game without either of the centre-back partnership that started the season in a 4-0 win at home to West Ham.

Mourinho confirmed in yesterday’s pre-match press conference that he expects Eric Bailly to be back next week.  We travel to Swansea City in the EFL Cup on Tuesday before hosting Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League next Saturday.
