Jadon Sancho has revived his career since returning to Borussia Dortmund on loan in January.
Manager Erik ten Hag banished the 24-year-old from the first team following his controversial social media post.
The English star removed the post but refused to apologise, leading him to move to Germany.
However, Sancho has got his career back on track and is performing reasonably well for Dortmund.
He received plenty of praise for his Champions League heroics against Paris Saint-Germain.
But he was ineffective when Dortmund returned to Bundesliga action against Mainz on Saturday.
The Black and Yellow made a dismal start to the game, conceding three goals in the opening 23 minutes.
Manager Edin Terzic introduced Sancho after the break, but he was largely anonymous.
The winger had 43 touches and lost possession on 11 occasions. He failed to complete a dribble and won just two of his eight ground duels.
The England international also contributed zero key passes, crosses or long balls.
Edin Terzic will hope for a better performance from Sancho and his teammates when they play against Real Madrid in the Champions League final next month.
