Man Utd legend heaps praise on Jose Mourinho

Jose Mourinho recently signed a new contract at Old Trafford to commit himself to Manchester United at least until 2020.

The Portuguese coach took charge of the record champions of England in the summer of 2016, winning the Community Shield, EFL Cup and Europa League in his first season.

Mourinho has guided us to second place in the Premier League currently, the second round of the Champions League and fifth round of this season’s FA Cup.

The former Real Madrid, Chelsea and Internazionale manager added Alexis Sanchez to his squad last Monday to add an extra dynamic to our attack and one that is expected to be a huge difference maker for both the remainder of the season and for the remainder of his time at Manchester United.

Club legend and former captain David Beckham was discussing our latest signing with Sky Sports when he moved onto the topic of Jose Mourinho.  Beckham is a Manchester United fan, who is excited to see Sanchez at his favourite club, and whom has full faith in the manager.

Beckham said of the boss:

“Of course he’s the right fit for Manchester United. We’re talking about Jose Mourinho. He’s one of the best managers in the game.

“Manchester United has had success over the last 25 years because we have had stability that has run throughout our club.

“Sir Alex Ferguson – the amount of time he was manager of the team – that’s why we were successful because we had stability that ran through the club and that’s what we need going forward.

“Everyone is going to have their own opinion of [Mourinho] as a manager, him as a person, him as an individual. But is he the right person to lead Manchester United? Yes, of course he is.”

David Beckham made 394 appearances in all competitions for us between 1992-2003 before departing for Real Madrid.  He went on to play for LA Galaxy, AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain before retiring in 2013. In the process he became the first, and only Englishman to win top flight league championships in four different countries.
