Manchester United are knocking on the door to sign Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, who is also on the radar of Chelsea and Atletico Madrid, Il Mattino report.
The Nigerian star has been in stunning form for the Serie A outfit this term, bagging 20 goals and four assists from just 24 appearances across all competitions.
This has caught the eye of elite European clubs and ll Mattino claim that United are one of three clubs including Chelsea and Atletico keen on signing him.
Osimhen recently refused to rule out a potential exit from Napoli but any interested club will have to pay a premium transfer fee in the region of €140 million.
United will purchase a marquee striker this summer
The Red Devils have had a superb transitional season under manager Erik ten Hag and they still have the chance of winning all four competitions available to them.
Hence, Ten Hag needs to be appreciated for his efforts. The Dutchman will be aiming to take United to the next level with a couple of big-money signings this summer.
A new striker and central midfielder could be the priorities. Osimhen is currently one of the best centre-forwards going around and he would be a fantastic purchase.
The Nigerian star has a good physical presence and has been a menace for defenders in the box with his quick feet, ability to win headers and excellent finishing qualities.
Osimhen could be tempted to move to the Premier League this summer. United should have an edge over Chelsea by qualifying for next season’s Champions League.
Apart from Osimhen, United have also been linked with Benfica’s Goncalo Ramos lately. Ten Hag may have to choose between the two during the next transfer window.
