Manchester United are interested in signing Swedish wonderkid Jonah Kusi-Asare whose playing style is similar to Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak.
The Red Devils are on the look out for emerging talents and they were recently linked with a move for 17-year-old Swedish midfielder Lucas Erik Bergvall.
It is now reported by Sport (page 21) that the club also have a keen interest in Kusi-Asare, who has been described as a ‘football prodigy’ in his country.
He has been compared to Zlatan Ibrahimovic due to his height, quality and ease of seeing the goal, but his playing style is close to Newcastle’s Isak.
The youngster has made only four substitute appearances for his club AIK, but Sport claim that he has ‘everything to succeed’ at the highest level.
Kusi-Asare is also on the radar of Chelsea and Bayern. It is reported that it could be a matter of time before he follows in the foot steps of Ibrahimovic and Isak.
Man Utd should pursue more young talents from overseas
United have had good success with graduates coming through the academy, but they also need to look into talents from overseas, who have plenty of potential.
Chelsea are currently doing so with the purchase of several young teenagers from South America. Kendry Paez is one of those, who has been tipped for big things.
Bayern are also known for pursuing highly-rated teenagers and United need to follow the same.
They have found recent success with Alejandro Garnacho, who was recruited from Atletico’s academy. Hopefully, there is more emphasis on the same going forward.
Not much is known about Kusi-Asare, but he could be one to watch out for. He scored a brilliant hat-trick for Sweden in an Under-17 European qualifier earlier this season.
