Manchester United are interested in signing Fulham centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo on a free transfer this summer, according to The Times.
The Red Devils are likely to reinforce their central defensive department with Raphael Varane and Jonny Evans anticipated to leave on free transfers.
United have been linked with multiple targets, but The Times claim that the club could focus on players, who have one year left on their contracts.
The Red Devils are also looking into free-agents and they are said to be interested in signing Adarabioyo, who is also on the radar of Newcastle United.
Adarabioyo has decided to pursue a new challenge when his Fulham deal expires on June 30.
Adarabioyo would be a good signing for rotation
The 26-year-old has been a key player at the heart of the Fulham defence, but he has turned down a renewal to secure a bigger challenge this summer.
In our view, he would be a good signing for rotation at United. Adarabioyo has a passing accuracy of 85 per cent this season with 62 per cent of duels won.
He has also averaged four clearances and 2.2 ball recoveries per league appearance.
Adarabioyo is currently on £40,000-a-week and United could easily double his wages. His arrival would also allow the club to spend big on a marquee centre-back.
The big question is whether the former England youth international would accept a reduced starting role when he could get more minutes at another club.
Newcastle could be United’s main rivals for Adarabioyo. They could assure him regular game time with Sven Botman out for months with a serious knee injury.
