Manchester United have their sights on signing Juventus defender Gleison Bremer and Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Joao Gomes this summer.
The Red Devils are likely to bolster multiple positions in the next transfer window. The main focus could be in the central defensive and holding midfield departments.
Bremer has been linked with the club on multiple occasions and Calciomercato.it claim that United are prepared to trigger the €58 million release clause in his contract.
The hierarchy have already made it known to the Bianconeri. A deal for the centre-back could be fairly straightforward this summer, provided personal terms are agreed.
Meanwhile, United currently value Gomes in the region of €40m, but they may need to pay more.
Wolves rate their midfielder at a slightly higher price. Calciomercato.it highlight that it would take around €100m to secure the services of the talented Brazilian duo.
Man Utd should look at better options this summer
Bremer has been one of the best centre-backs in Serie A and he recently signed a new contract.
The Brazilian has a good physical presence in the box with a passing accuracy of 87 per cent. He has been effective with his tackling and ability to make recoveries too.
Despite this, we are not convinced over a move for him. Bremer is already 27 and may not be seen as a long-term signing. In our view, Ousmane Diomande should be targeted.
The 20-year-old is regarded as one of the best young centre-backs. He is much better than Bremer with the ball at his feet and could be available for his €80m release clause.
Meanwhile, Gomes has had a good start to his Premier League career at Wolves, but the 23-year-old lacks ball control. He has only completed 83 per cent of his passes this term.
The Brazilian would be a like-for-like replacement for Casemiro at United. If the club have sufficient funds this summer, they should focus on landing Joao Neves from Benfica.
