Man Utd have made a written offer for Lille defender Leny Yoro

Manchester United are aiming to bolster their central defensive department this summer and they could make more than one signing.

The club are already in advanced talks with Bayern Munich for Matthijs de Ligt, but they are open to pursuing another young star.

Yoro is one of those on their radar and journalist Nabil Djellit claims that the club have submitted a written offer of £42 million for the teenager.

Lille have already accepted the proposal as it is clearly superior to Real Madrid’s, but Yoro is prioritising a move to the European champions as of now.

Despite this, United have not given up on landing the wonderkid, who was described as ‘very ambitious‘ by former Lille manager Paulo Fonseca.

United aiming to capitalise on Leno situation

Yoro has entered the final year of his contract with Les Dogues. The French outfit are clearly determined to sell him than losing him for free next year.

Madrid are Yoro’s preferred destination but the European champions are reluctant to meet the price tag and believe they can land him on a cut-price deal.

Los Blancos have offered just £17m for the teenager which is a derisory offer in our opinion.

United are currently trailing behind Madrid in the pursuit, but the scenario could completely change if Los Blancos refuse to significantly improve their bid.

Yoro may not want to run down the final year of his deal at his boyhood club. He could opt to join the Red Devils if Madrid are unable to convince Lille.

Hence, it is a waiting game for the Red Devils. They seem on course to land De Ligt. Yoro or Jarrad Branthwaite could be the other centre-back signing.
