Manchester United have been handed a boost in signing Eintracht Frankfurt striker Randal Kolo Muani amid Bayern Munich’s stance over him.
The Frenchman has been in fabulous form for Frankfurt this season, contributing 20 goals and 14 assists from 40 appearances in all competitions.
This had led to widespread interest in his services but Bild claim that Bayern are not particularly keen on signing him in the next transfer window.
While Muani has excelled in his debut Bundesliga season, Bayern don’t feel he would match their requirement.
The German champions are used to playing against low defensive blocks and have their doubts over Muani, who likes to get behind defences.
Instead, they are said to prefer a ‘back to goal’ striker such as Victor Osimhen, who has more similarities with their former star Robert Lewandowski.
As a result, Bild claim that Muani is expected to move abroad. Manchester United, who are one of the clubs interested, have been handed a boost.
Muani would perfectly fit into Erik ten Hag’s plans
United have scored many goals on the counter-attack this campaign. They have used the pace of Marcus Rashford to good effect on several occasions.
The Red Devils need another goalscoring striker this summer. In our view, Muani would be a perfect fit with his knack for getting behind defences.
Aside from his goals, Muani has also excelled with his link-up play and ability to create regular chances.
He has also caught the eye with his high pressing, hold-up play and dribbling skills in the final third.
Muani has won a stunning 6.8 ground and aerial duels per game this season.
These are attributes that Ten Hag is looking in his striker. Muani would be a clear upgrade on Anthony Martial but he won’t come on the cheap this summer.
Frankfurt value him at around €100 million and may not accept anything less, having seen the inflated prices paid on forward players over the past 12 months.
