Manchester United are closely following the performances of Boca Juniors wonderkid Aaron Anselmino ahead of a potential transfer.
The 18-year-old is regarded as one of the best young centre-backs in Argentina. He has been fancied to move to Europe very soon.
United are one of his main admirers and TyC Sports journalist Julio Pavoni (via La12Tuittera) claims that they have watched him in action.
The Red Devils have plans to sign the teenager before loaning him out to another club this summer.
Anselmino currently has an affordable release clause of €20 million in his contract signed in January.
Aside from United, AC Milan are also keeping tabs on the progress of the teenage defender.
Anselmino would be a good long-term prospect for United
The youngster has managed only seven senior appearances in his career, but he has made a good impression.
He was recently in action in the first round of the Copa Argentina where he was superb in defence.
Anselmino completed 87 per cent of his passes and won 100 per cent of his ground duels.
The teenager also registered three clearances alongside two tackles and two interceptions.
He clearly has huge potential. United should have no problem in triggering the clause, but the final decision will be on the player.
Anselmino recently said that he is fully focused on Boca Juniors, and he would need to be convinced to make the switch to England.
The club also need to persuade him with the project. They have an idea to send him on loan before integrating him into the squad.
With competition from Milan, the hierarchy must show urgency in agreeing terms with the wonderkid.
