Man Utd fans delighted with Fred’s stand-out display against Crystal Palace

A section of Manchester United fans were delighted with Fred’s performance during Sunday’s 1-0 Premier League win over Crystal Palace.

The Red Devils have struggled for consistency in the league over the past couple of months but appear to be moving in the right direction ahead of the festive run of fixtures.

They made it two victories on the trot by beating the Eagles yesterday, but it was hard work with the London outfit showing good defensive resolve for most of the game.

Fred recently starred against Arsenal with two key goal contributions. The Brazil international proved the difference-maker again, finding the back of the net in the 77th minute.

The 28-year-old has been given the license to attack in recent matches. He bagged the winning strike against the Eagles with a sublime curler from the edge of the box with his weaker right foot.

Fred has received criticism from plenty of United fans in the past, but he has won over many of them with recent displays.

Some supporters on Twitter were delighted with his showing yesterday.

Fred was paired alongside Scott Mctominay in Ralf Rangnick’s preferred double-six formation (4-2-2-2).

The midfielder outshined his teammate with a splendid all-round performance.

Aside from his match-winner, the £19.8 million-rated star won 10 ground and aerial duels alongside seven tackles and two clearances.

The Brazilian also delivered five successful long balls over 90 minutes.

Judging by yesterday’s showing, he appears the perfect midfield player for Ralf Rangnick.

The German was impressed with both Fred and McTominay after the game, but was still critical over their square passes.

United have now won back-to-back league games for the first time since September.

With a favourable schedule ahead, they will fancy breaking into the top four before the turn of the year.

The Red Devils are presently three points adrift of West Ham United, who are occupying the final Champions League spot.

They are in European action against Young Boys in midweek.
