Manchester United are considering a move for AS Monaco forward Pietro Pellegri, according to reports in his homeland.
We have been linked to a number of attacking players this season as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer appears to want to add one more name to our squad up front.
It looks as though Odion Ighalo won’t stay beyond the 2019-20 season whilst Alexis Sanchez could be moved on permanently. The Chilean is currently on loan at Internazionale.
Pellegri has been highly-rated for a a number of years now despite still only being 19 years old. When he was only 16 he got a €25 million (£22m) move to AS Monaco from Genoa. His career has somewhat halted in France though, making just six appearances, scoring a single goal.
A series of injuries to the teenager disrupted his latest campaign before Ligue 1 was officially cancelled in April.
Now Football Italia are reporting that Solskjaer is considering rejuvenating the Italian’s career by bringing him to Old Trafford this summer, though the article does not mention any potential fee.
The Norwegian boss has already brought youngsters Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka to Manchester United so don’t be surprise if he continues to add further talents for the future this summer too.
It appears our number one attacking target this summer will be Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho though, but Pellegri could certainly be an alternative option if we are unsuccessful in our hunt for the England international.
