Man Utd could sell flop for £18m

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is building an exciting team at Manchester United, currently on a seven game unbeaten run in the Premier League.

We have taken seven points from our three games since the restart, and booked a place in the FA Cup semi-finals. Victory over Bournemouth tomorrow would move us into the top four, at least prior to Chelsea’s game on Saturday night.

Since the restart, Bruno Fernandes has been pulling the strings in the middle of the park for us, Paul Pogba has been rejuvenated, the defence are protecting David de Gea very well and Mason Greenwood is coming into his own down the right wing.

Ole hasn’t been afraid to get rid of the big name players who weren’t delivering the goods either – Romelu Lukaku was sold to Internazionale last summer, and Alexis Sanchez joined the Belgian on loan shortly after.

Now we’re waiting to see if Inter want to make the Sanchez move permanent this summer.

The Chilean forward hasn’t been able to establish himself in the Serie A side’s first team, partly due to injuries. He has at least appeared in all five of their matches since the restart, starting twice. He scored the second goal in Wednesday’s 6-0 thrashing of Brescia, after Ashley Young opened the scoring.

Earlier this week we agreed to extend the duration of his loan until the end of the domestic season, and now Goal are reporting that Inter would be prepared to make the move permanent in a cut-price deal.

The report claims that we originally had a gentleman’s agreement in place for €25 million (£23m), but that the Milan-based club are looking to strike a deal for a reduced €20 million (£18m).

It wouldn’t surprise me if Manchester United accepted that offer just to get the Chilean off our books. Sanchez is on a hefty wage with little-to-no future at Old Trafford. At 31 years of age and few clubs being able to match his salary, this could be the best offer we get for him.
