Man Utd could battle PSG and AC Milan for free-agent Marcus Thuram this summer

Manchester United could compete with Paris Saint-Germain and AC Milan to sign Borussia Monchengladbach forward Marcus Thuram this summer, according to Bild.

The Frenchman has had an impressive campaign with Monchengladbach. He has contributed 16 goals and six assists from just 30 appearances across all competitions.

United have been linked with him numerous times this year and Bild report that they are one of the contenders to land the forward on a free transfer this summer.

Thuram has already confirmed that he will be leaving Monchengladbach when his contract expires on June 30. AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain are also in the mix to sign him.

United could sign Thuram to provide quality depth

Thuram started his career as a regular on the left wing but he has played exclusively up front this season.

His versatile ability could invite interest from the Red Devils this summer. Aside from his goal contributions, he has a good work rate and has the ability to win regular duels.

With United planning to sign a marquee striker, Thuram is unlikely to be an assured starter but he would be an upgrade on Martial. The Frenchman possesses superb dribbling skills too.

In our opinion, the Red Devils should make a contract proposal for him. He is currently on wages of just £53,000-a-week. United could persuade him to join with a huge salary hike.

The 25-year-old’s arrival at Old Trafford could lead to questions over Martial’s future. He has missed 27 games with injuries this term and United could contemplate selling him.
