Manchester United have confirmed that Sofyan Amrabat and Sergio Reguilon were involved in today’s training session as they prepare for the Premier League clash at Sheffield United.
The Red Devils have had a poor start to the top-flight campaign and they are currently on 12 points after eight matches. Erik ten Hag will be hoping for a huge improvement going forward.
Ahead of Saturday’s game at Bramall Lane, United have been handed a huge boost with Amrabat and Reguilon reporting for training. Amrabat played 87 minutes of the 2-1 win over Brentford, but he missed both matches for Morocco over the break with a minor back problem.
The 27-year-old has recovered in time to train again. He has been joined by Reguilon, who last played in the 1-0 win at Burnley in late September. Amrabat replaced him off the bench.
The Spain international sustained a hamstring injury during the closing minutes at Turf Moor. He has now fully recovered from the setback and should be in line to start against the Blades.
While United have confirmed positive news on the duo, they have suffered a setback as well. Casemiro won’t be involved against the Blades after twisting his ankle on Brazil duty.
The midfielder’s ankle was badly swollen after the draw against Venezuela, but he was surprisingly back in their line-up against Uruguay. The Selecao suffered a 2-0 defeat on the road.
United have now revealed that Casemiro will remain in Brazil for the next few days on the club’s advice. He is expected to report for training early next week and could face Copenhagen.
In the absence of Casemiro, Amrabat is likely to operate from his preferred number six role. Reguilon’s return means that Ten Hag finally has a specialist left-back to call upon for duty.
