Man Utd can sign RB Leipzig star Dani Olmo for €70m this summer

Manchester United will have the opportunity to sign RB Leipzig forward Dani Olmo for €70-75 million this summer, reputed journalist Christian Falk claims.

The Red Devils have shown little intention to bolster their squad this month. They have made just two loan signings in the form of Jack Butland and Wout Weghorst.

With a possible takeover, manager Erik ten Hag may have to wait until the summer to land high-profile targets. It is now reported that Olmo is on their radar.

According to Falk, United are one of those interested in the Spain international and they are set to be handed a boost in landing him at the end of the season.

The 24-year-old is due to sign a fresh Leipzig deal in the coming days. As part of the new contract, there will be two different release clauses for the summer.

Spanish duo Barcelona and Real Madrid will have the chance to sign him for €60m while other foreign clubs including United will have to pay €70-75m.

Olmo would be a good buy for Red Devils

Olmo has had troubles with injuries over the past 18 months but when fit and available, he has been a key player for Leipzig from multiple roles in the final third.

This season alone, he has played on the left wing, right wing or in the number 10 role. He has 10 goal contributions from just 16 appearances for the German side.

United have yet to make any formal move for the player. In our view, they should assess his fitness and form over the rest of the season before making an approach.

The club are likely to bring in a marquee striker for Ten Hag but an attacking midfielder could also be pursued with barely any competition for Bruno Fernandes.

Fernandes is almost undroppable at the moment. Donny van de Beek, who is out injured for the season, was pretty poor from the number 10 role earlier this term.
