Man United to ‘sit down’ with Kobbie Mainoo over a new contract

Manchester United will ‘sit down with Kobbie Mainoo after the transfer window closes to discuss a new deal’, according to Sky Sports News,

Mainoo’s current contract runs until 2027, with United having the option to extend it by another year.

He currently earns only £20,000 per week, but his deal includes performance-related bonuses to boost his package.

Kobbie Mainoo deserves a new bumper contract

Mainoo has enjoyed a breathtaking last few months, from breaking into the senior United team to helping England reach the 2024 European Championship.

He is a generational talent, and United must keep hold of him for as long as possible.

Even though his contract has four years remaining, United are willing to tie him to a revised deal.

This move signifies the recognition Mainoo has earned over the last 12 months for his outstanding performances.

The 19-year-old showcases a level of maturity and skill rarely seen at such a young age.

If he continues to develop at this rate, he could become one of the defining players of his generation.

Cole Palmer recently signed a contract extension at Chelsea that will keep him at the club for another nine years.

Although United are not known to offer such long contracts, Mainoo is set for a bumper and well-deserved increment.

Mainoo’s camp is reportedly relaxed and aligned with the new United hierarchy’s plans.

United aim to sign Manuel Ugarte this summer. They believe the 23-year-old could be a perfect partner for Mainoo and help his side dominate in midfield.
