Man United to face Arsenal and Liverpool in pre-season US tour

Manchester United will return to the United States this summer for a pre-season tour in which they will face Premier League giants Liverpool and Arsenal.

They will have a rematch against Arsenal and face the Reds for the first time ever in the US.

United will take on the Gunners at the jaw-dropping 70,000-seated SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on July 27, looking to repeat their 2-0 victory from last year’s encounter in New Jersey.

That match set a record for the highest-grossing club football game at the venue and promises another electric atmosphere this time.

The action doesn’t stop there as United face Liverpool on August 3 at the University of South Carolina’s (USC) William Brice Stadium.

It is poised to be the biggest club football game ever played in the 77,559-capacity stadium.

Interestingly, the trio of Premier Clubs clubs boast American ownership – the Kroenke family for Arsenal, the Glazer family for United and Fenway Sports Group for Liverpool – ensuring a strong financial and fan-based pull for the event.

“We had an incredible time during last year’s visit to the US, and we are pleased to be returning with the men’s team to prepare for the 2024/25 season,” Manchester United director John Murtough said (via ManUtd.com)

Beyond the on-field action, the tour is a marketing move for the United as the club taps into the growing American appetite for Premier League football.

They hope to capitalise on the excitement leading up to the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup and the 2026 World Cup hosted in the US, Mexico and Canada.

The tour will also provide a crucial platform for United to engage with American fans through various events and activities, solidifying their presence in this pivotal market.

Tickets for both games are available for pre-sale from Monday, February 26, and general sale commences the following day.
