Manchester United played a 0-0 stalemate with Manchester City in the Premier League at Old Trafford on Sunday.
The opening half was a closely fought affair, with both sides probing cautiously.
Despite promising build-up play and flashes of creativity, United lacked a clinical touch in front of goal.
In a bid to tilt the balance, both managers turned to their benches in the second half, injecting fresh legs and new ideas.
Yet neither side could find the breakthrough.
City, usually a dominant force, appeared unusually subdued, failing to stamp their authority on the contest.
United had the better chances and will likely be the more pleased with the point.
