Man United move to beat Liverpool and Man City to Hearts wonderkid Keir McMeekin

Manchester United have intensified their interest in the Hearts youngster Keir McMeekin.

According to club insider SullyTalkz, McMeekin was invited to Carrington on Sunday to see the club’s training facilities. His agent and some family members were also present.

United are ready to pay Hearts a compensation fee to win his signature, but face stiff competition from other clubs, including Manchester City and Liverpool.

Edinburgh News reported last week that City have made a formal offer to Hearts for McMeekin, and the Scottish youngster, alongside his family, visited the club’s training facilities.

Liverpool have not stepped up their interest in the 15-year-old but have sent scouts to watch him.

The talented midfielder has also discussed a move with two other English clubs, but has yet to decide on his next move.

Hearts are determined to keep McMeekin, offering him an attractive contract, which he can only sign when he turns 16 next year.

It would represent a significant coup if United got the signature of the Scotland U17 international.

At just 15, McMeekin has trained with Hearts’ first team and featured in their closed-door bounce game against Ayr United, underlining his immense potential.

It remains to be seen whether he will be tempted to join Man United or remain at Hearts, where he is closer to debuting for the first team.

Besides their move for the Scottish teenager, United are close to signing Senegal U17 captain Mouhamed Dabo and have secured a preliminary agreement Colombian starlet Cristian Orozco.

Since INEOS arrival, United have added several promising youngsters who could eventually become key players for the senior side.

The capture of Orozco and the pursuit of McMeekin and Dabo further underlines that commitment.
