Man United hit with double injury concern with Marcus Rashford and Scott McTominay forced off in FA Cup semi-final

Manchester United duo Marcus Rashford and Scott McTominay suffered injuries in the FA Cup semi-final win over Coventry City on Sunday.

The Red Devils advanced to the final after beating the Championship side 4-2 on penalties.

Rashford hobbled off the pitch after Coventry City scored their third goal and was replaced by Amad Diallo.

McTominay was also forced off due to a potential groin issue in the 103rd minute for Omari Forson.

Journalist Samuel Luckhurst revealed later that the midfielder was ‘walking gingerly‘ after the match.

Man United sweating over the fitness of the key duo

Rashford had a glorious chance to put United ahead in the 18th minute, but his shot went wide off the target.

He had another chance before the break when he fired a shot from outside the box to pull off a fine save from the goalkeeper.

Apart from that, Rashford lacked a cutting edge and failed to inspire when United were dominating the possession. He was dropping too deep at times to collect the ball.

McTominay gave United the lead with a smart tap-in after Diogo Dalot played a sumptuous cross from the right flank.

His performance levels dropped when Ten Hag switched him to the number six role after replacing Kobbie Mainoo.

The Scotland international appeared uncomfortable, and the United manager took him off to make an attacking substitution.

United will hope it will not be a big issue for McTominay as he has just returned after missing the previous two contests.

The Red Devils will face Sheffield United in the Premier League on Wednesday. Ten Hag will ideally want the €92 million-rated duo to be fit and available for selection.
