Manchester United could ignite their attack by selling Mason Greenwood and using the proceeds to sign Bologna’s dynamic forward Joshua Zirkzee.
According to the Mirror, Greenwood is ‘growing impatient’ with uncertainty over his future and wants to sort it out by next week.
Marseille and Lazio have made competing bids for the forward after his impressive spell at Getafe last season.
He scored ten goals and six assists in 36 appearances across all competitions and earned the Getafe Player of the Season title last season.
Juventus, Napoli, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona have also been linked with the one-cap England international.
United must end this transfer saga by cashing in on Greenwood. They are looking for an offer of around £40 million to sanction his exit.
Journalist David Ornstein recently reported that United are working to finalise the deal with Bologna for Zirkzee.
The striker has a £34m release clause that must be paid in full. They are deliberating whether to activate that clause.
If the Red Devils can sell Greenwood, they would secure a substantial amount to fund Zirkzee’s purchase.
Erik ten Hag has enough options to play on the wings and is eyeing a robust back-up for Rasmus Hojlund.
Greenwood last played for United in January 2022. His career at Old Trafford is over, and a move elsewhere would benefit all parties involved.
