Man City to make huge January offer for Man Utd target

The January transfer window is less than four weeks away from opening and both Manchester United and Premier League leaders Manchester City have been linked with making a move for a number of stars.

One of those that both of us have been strongly linked with is Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez.

The Chilean is heading into the final six months of his current deal at the Emirates Stadium with no signs of penning a new contract.

Whilst Sanchez would be available on a free transfer at the end of the season, many reports have speculated that the likes of us, City, Barcelona and Juventus may make a formal bid for the player next month in order to steal a march on their rivals.

The Independent are now reporting that Pep Guardiola and Manchester City will come in with a huge offer for the forward in January in an attempt to lure him to the Etihad Stadium.  The Citizens made offers for Sanchez during the summer transfer window, initially agreeing a deal as late as deadline day itself, but were later rebuffed by Arsenal when the North London side failed to agree a deal with AS Monaco for Thomas Lemar.

However, Arsene Wenger continues to insist that the 28-year-old star will not be sold during the season.  Whether the French manager will stick to his word if big money is offered to the Gunners remains to be seen.  The Independent goes as far to say that Manchester City are expected to have to pay more than £50 million if they want Sanchez in January.

The former Barcelona player would not be cup tied for the Champions League this season as Arsenal have been competing in the Europa League and players are allowed to make the step up should they move mid-season.

It is not known whether we will go in for Alexis Sanchez next month but Jose Mourinho is believed to be a fan of the talented South American.  Although he has spent much of his time at Arsenal on the left wing, he previously played on the right at Barcelona, a position he could find his home at Old Trafford.

We currently have Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial performing great down the left wing when Mourinho plays a 4-2-3-1 formation, but the right wing has been a bit of a weakness at times for us this season with Juan Mata, Jesse Lingard and Henrikh Mkhitaryan all spending time here.
