Luis Campos was spotted meeting Sir Alex Ferguson in Paris at the Peninsula Hotel last night amid Manchester United links

Paris Saint-Germain sporting advisor Luis Campos has been spotted meeting Sir Alex Ferguson in Paris at the Peninsula Hotel, according to Sport News Africa.

The account, followed by the likes of Abdellah Boulma, John Bennett, Ed Aarons, Romain Molina and plenty of French football journalists on X claimed last night that the Portuguese was with the former Red Devils manager in France.

Sky Sports Switzerland journalist Sacha Tavolieri claimed at the weekend that Man United are in advanced talks with Campos over a potential deal as he has been unable to reach an agreement with the Ligue 1 club over an extension.

He is expected to leave PSG at the end of the season, and Ferguson meeting with him could be huge for the Old Trafford club if it is indeed true.

Man United parted with Dan Ashworth as their sporting director last December, and it appears they could be tempted to bring in Campos as his replacement as the INEOS-led club look to turn their fortunes around.

The Portuguese chief will be a huge asset for the club given his huge experience in the transfer market and connections in the game, and head coach Ruben Amorim could benefit working with his countryman ahead of his first full season in charge of the Red Devils.

Campos has helped the likes of PSG, Lille and AS Monaco become Ligue 1 winners in recent years, and Man United could do with his expertise and input as they eye their first Premier League title since 2013.

They have been very woeful in the current league campaign as they are 15th in the table ahead of the final three games of 2024-25, and they will be desperate not to finish 17th.

The Old Trafford club will play West Ham United, Chelsea and Aston Villa in their remaining league games, and Amorim will be praying they pick up much-needed points as they need to have their morale boosted ahead of their potential Europa League final.
