Loan watch: How did Amad Diallo fare in Sunderland’s 2-1 win over West Brom?

Manchester United’s Amad Diallo is enjoying a successful loan spell at Sunderland this season.

The 20-year-old has registered 12 goals and three assists in 35 league appearances.

The winger’s excellent performances earned him a nomination for the Championship’s Young Player of the Season.

United manager Erik ten Hag is reportedly so impressed with Amad’s development that he is ready to include him in the squad next term

The Ivory Coast international was in fine form on Sunday as he helped Sunderland secure a 2-1 win at West Bromwich Albion.

The Black Cats were a goal down at the break after John Swift converted his spot-kick in injury time.

However, they made a big turnaround in the second half as Dennis Cirkin scored twice to seal a superb victory for Tony Mowbray’s side at The Hawthorns.

While Amad had no headline moments, he ensured the Baggies’ defence could never relax in the game. He looked a real danger throughout, especially in the second half.

The 20-year-old posted impressive numbers, with 71 touches, three key passes and three shots (as per WhoScored).

He also boasted a 88 percent pass accuracy, made three crosses and played four long balls.

The latest success provided a big boost for Sunderland’s chances of reaching the Championship play-offs.

They are now sixth in the table but have the same points as Millwall and Blackburn Rovers.

The Black Cats will host Watford next weekend before playing their final game of the season at Preston North End.
