A handful of Manchester United players are out on loan this season including several youngsters looking to get a taste of first-team football. Here’s a look at how they’ve been getting on.
Amad
After being rested in Sunderland’s game against Queens Park Rangers last week, Amad returned to the starting XI on Saturday to make his 25th league appearance for the club.
The Ivorian played all 90 minutes for the Black Cats in their 1-1 draw against Bristol City.
Hannibal Mejbri
Mejbri has been a regular for Birmingham City this season and was involved in their game against Huddersfield Town last weekend.
The midfielder played 81 minutes for the Blues on Saturday and was one of their better performers in a 2-1 defeat to the Terriers.
Alvaro Fernandez
Fernandez has been reintroduced into the Preston North End starting XI after a brief spell on the bench.
The full-back made his 25th league outing for the Championship outfit last weekend, playing all 90 minutes in their goalless draw against Hull City.
William Fish
Fish has had to wait for playing time while on loan at Hibernian this season but has now started the last four games for the Scottish side and has been quite impressive.
The defender played all 90 minutes in the Hibees’ 2-0 win over Kilmarnock at the weekend, opening the scoring in the first half via a towering header.
Alex Telles
Telles joined Sevilla on loan in the summer and was a regular in the side before sustaining an injury while on international duty for Brazil at the World Cup.
The full-back returned to action on Sunday, playing all 90 minutes in Sevilla’s 1-1 draw against Rayo Vallecano.
Shola Shoretire
Shoretire made his sixth consecutive start for Bolton Wanderers last weekend in their game against Wycombe Wanderers.
The young midfielder struggled to deliver and was hooked off before the hour mark and will be looking to bounce back this week.
Charlie Savage
After making his debut for Forest Green Rovers last week, Savage was handed his first start for the League One outfit in their game against Ipswich Town at the weekend.
The 19-year-old played 73 minutes as the Green suffered a 4-0 defeat.
Other loan departures include Ethan Laird and Dean Henderson, who are both injured, Matej Kovar, who helped Sparta Praha to a 3-0 win over Jablonec, and Eric Bailly, Di’Shon Bernard and Charlie McNeill, who all got minutes for their respective teams last weekend.
