A handful of Manchester United players are out on loan this season including several youngsters looking to get a taste of first-team football. Here’s a look at how they’ve been getting on.
Amad
Amad made his 30th appearance for Sunderland last weekend, playing all 90 minutes in their 2-1 loss to Coventry City.
The Ivorian was a lively figure throughout the game and scored a late consolation goal for the Black Cats to end his seven-game goal drought.
Hannibal Mejbri
Mejbri’s performances for Birmingham City this season has steadily improved of late, with the midfielder making his fifth consecutive league start for the club last weekend.
The Tunisian played 64 minutes against Luton Town last Saturday but could not prevent his side’s 1-0 defeat.
Alvaro Fernandez
After a brief spell on the substitutes bench, Fernandez has returned to Preston North End’s starting XI.
The left-back played all 90 minutes in the Lilywhites’ 2-1 home win over Wigan Athletic last weekend.
Alex Telles
Telles returned from injury midway through February and has featured for Sevilla in their last three games.
The Brazilian played all 90 minutes in the Rojiblancos’ 2-0 defeat to PSV Eindhoven last Thursday before coming off the bench in their 3-2 defeat to Osasuna last time out.
Eric Bailly
Bailly’s eight-game suspension ended earlier in the month, but he has had to settle for substitute appearances thereafter.
The central defender returned to Olympique Marseille’s starting XI last weekend, playing 66 minutes in their 3-0 defeat to league leaders Paris Saint-Germain.
Shola Shoretire
Shoretire made his seventh consecutive start for Bolton Wanderers last weekend in their game against Port Vale.
The Englishman played the first 45 minutes of the match as the Trotters secured a 2-1 comeback victory.
Charlie Savage
Savage made his first home start for Forest Green Rovers last weekend, playing 45 minutes in their 1-1 draw against Lincoln City.
Charlie McNeill
McNeill returned to Newport County’s starting XI last weekend after being named on the bench in their previous three outings.
The young striker played all 90 minutes in the Ironsides’ 2-0 defeat to Sutton United and was perhaps their most likely attacker.
Other loan departures include Ethan Laird and Dean Henderson, who are both injured, Matej Kovar, who helped Sparta Praha to a 3-2 win over Trinity Zlin, and Di’Shon Bernard, who was an unused substitute for Portsmouth last Saturday.
