Kobbie Mainoo’s post-match reaction shows maturity beyond his years

Manchester United starlet Kobbie Mainoo scored a fantastic goal against arch-rivals Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday.

The two sides battled to an electrifying 2-2 draw in front of a raucous crowd at Old Trafford.

Mainoo bagged his first senior goal in front of the home crowd in dazzling style. A late penalty from Mohamed Salah salvaged a point for the visitors.

Speaking to MUTV after the game, Mainoo admitted that winning games is more important.

He said: “Enjoyable, tough, but I’m playing for my boyhood club on the biggest stage, so to be able to adapt, for these fans and everything around it, I can’t complain.

“To score my first goal at Old Trafford is unbelievable. But, we didn’t come away with three points. It doesn’t leave the best taste in my mouth.

“I think in the second half we pulled together. We were much better. But, seeing out games is gonna give us points, get us higher on the table, give us wins and these things matter.”

Mainoo deserves his place at Man United

Mainoo’s post-match reaction shows he is no ordinary teenager.

He found it challenging to stifle Liverpool’s midfield without possession, especially in the first half.

The visitors dominated the game before the break and ran through United’s midfield. They had 15 attempts compared to United’s none.

Fernandes brought the Red Devils back into the game with his long-range strike.

United carried the momentum, fuelled by the growing roar of the home crowd, injecting renewed energy into their performance.

Mainoo stepped up in attack and made an exquisite turn after receiving the ball from Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

His curling shot oozed class from the moment he struck it. Liverpool’s shot-stopper Caoimhin Kelleher made a valiant effort to save, but the ball seemed destined for the net.

Even after scoring a magnificent goal, Mainoo was more concerned about the two points United dropped today. This shows he has the mentality the club desperately needs.
