Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba is reportedly set to make his return to training for the first time this year following his rehabilitation for an ankle surgery.
The 26-year-old has experienced a difficult season with the Red Devils due to multiple ankle injuries and he has been restricted to just seven appearances in the Premier League.
Over the past couple of months, he has been out of action following an operation to rectify the nagging problem but it appears that he is close to returning to the training pitch.
According to ESPN, the Frenchman is expected to be involved in training later this week and he is excited by the prospect of playing alongside Bruno Fernandes, who was the club’s February Player of the Month.
Pogba was definitely a huge miss during the first half of the season where United seemed to lack the creativity due to the absence of a playmaker, who could provide decisive balls into the box.
The winter arrival of Fernandes has definitely eased the concerns but the fans will surely be looking forward towards the partnership between the Portuguese and Pogba on the playing field.
Of course, Pogba won’t be rushed into action immediately and he may need around three weeks to regain his fitness. Ideally, Solskjaer should have the Frenchman’s services for the final two months of the season.
