Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund could return to Italy this summer, two years after he arrived from Atalanta.
The Denmark international has been linked with a move to Serie A giants Juventus, who want to strengthen their attack when the transfer window opens.
According to Tuttosport, Juventus have made the 22-year-old their first-choice target for the centre forward position.
The Old Lady need to sign a striker this summer to replace Dusan Vlahovic. They have made it a priority to sell the Serbian to avoid losing him for free.
They could use midfielder Douglas Luiz as a makeweight to sign Hojlund.
United have been long-term admirers of the midfielder and were linked with him in the winter transfer window. They could be tempted by Juventus’ proposal.
Luiz has struggled for game time since joining Juventus from Aston Villa last summer and could be tempted with a move to Old Trafford.
United should reject Juventus’ offer for Hojlund
Man United should insist on receiving the full valuation for Hojlund rather than accepting Juventus’ proposed offer involving Luiz.
While Luiz could be a valuable addition to United’s midfield, the club’s top priority should be strengthening the attack – particularly the centre-forward position.
The Red Devils have reportedly valued Hojlund at £52 million and should only consider offers that meet that amount in full.
Proceeds from Hojlund’s sale could be used to pursue their interest in Nigeria international Victor Osimhen, who is an upgrade on the former Atalanta forward.
United have already held talks with the Napoli striker’s representatives regarding a potential summer move, and funds from Hojlund’s sale could prove instrumental in making the deal happen.
