According to England-based transfer expert Duncan Castles, Barcelona star Ousmane Dembele has agreed to join Manchester United on the transfer deadline day of the summer transfer window.
Manchester United have been on the hunt for the France international ever since Dortmund made it clear that they won’t let Jadon Sancho leave in the current summer transfer window.
Dembele is considered an alternative to Sancho. And Manchester United, on the other hand, are willing to secure only a season-long loan deal for the 23-year-old winger.
Dembele joined Barcelona from Dortmund for a record-breaking deal of €145m in the year 2017.
He was touted there to be the replacement for Neymar jr, who joined PSG in order to move out of Lionel Messi’s shadow.
Having suffered from various injuries, Dembele always have had struggled to get an amazing run of games in the Barca shirt.
However, the 2018 FIFA World Cup Winner has racked up 19 goals 16 assists from 75 matches for the Catalan giants across all competitions.
It was reported earlier that his compatriot Paul Pogba was trying to convince the winger to join Manchester United. And it certainly seems as if Pogba’s efforts have worked well.
The sources have made it clear that Manchester United are currently negotiating terms with Barcelona.
As of now, it is likely that United might end up signing Dembele as a season-long option for the right-wing void.
