Jose had this to say about Paul Pogba after Chelsea win

Manchester United came from behind to beat Chelsea 2-1 at Old Trafford on Sunday.

The result moves us back up to second and extends our lead over the Blues to six points with Antonio Conte’s side now down in fifth.

With 10 games to go this was an important victory to prevent any doubt of a top four finish creeping in, especially whilst we’re still in contention to win the Champions League and FA Cup.

Romelu Lukaku equalised for us on 39 minutes, seven minutes after Willian had given Antonio Conte’s side the lead on the counter-attack.  The Belgian striker then turned provider for Jesse Lingard’s winning goal in the final 20 minutes.

This afternoon’s game also saw Paul Pogba start for the first time since our 1-0 loss at Newcastle United.  The French star had previously been left out of our FA Cup win at Huddersfield Town last weekend and was a substitute midweek in Sevilla.

Pogba put in an excellent display as part of our central midfield three alongside Nemanja Matic and Scott McTominay, taking control of the game and driving us forward.

Speaking after the game, Jose Mourinho was complimentary of the £89 million signing on MUTV:

“I think [Paul] Pogba played a fantastic game in our midfield. I could speak about my central defenders too and the guys in attack – the mission Alexis [Sanchez] had, to be the third attacking player but at the same time the fourth midfield player to try to cover the area in front of Scott [McTominay].”

Our next game is at Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Monday 5 March.
