Manchester United will be looking to prevent Manchester City from being crowned Premier League champions on Saturday in the derby at the Etihad Stadium
Pep Guardiola’s side were hammered 3-0 at Liverpool in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final at Anfield on Wednesday and have the second leg to plan for this Tuesday.
Meanwhile, we’ll be heading into the derby in good shape as Jose Mourinho was able to confirm that we only have one absentee for the match across town at his pre-match press conference today.
We will be boosted by the returns of Phil Jones, Marcos Rojo and Ander Herrera, whilst Daley Blind is also back in full training. None of the aforementioned are expected to start tomorrow’s game but they could feature from the substitutes bench.
The one absentee is backup goalkeeper Sergio Romero who picked up an injury whilst on international duty last month. Jose suggests that the Argentine could be out for “a few weeks”.
Speaking to MUTV this afternoon, the boss said:
“Everybody is coming back but Sergio [Romero] is injured.
“It’s been a good week. I would say a normal week – no midweek match or Champions League for us, so more time to train. But a good normal week I would call it.”
We head into the weekend with a 12-point margin between us and Chelsea, who currently sit outside of the Champions League places, with seven games to go.
