Manchester United loanee Jadon Sancho recently helped Borussia Dortmund to progress to the Champions League final where they will face Real Madrid at the Wembley Stadium next month.
The 24-year-old has managed to revive his career after a tough start to the season at United. His public fall-out with manager Erik ten Hag in September meant that he was suspended after just three appearances.
The Red Devils made the decision to loan him out to Dortmund in January. The move has benefited both the player and the club. Sancho has stood out for the Bundesliga outfit in several games.
He has five goal contributions in 18 outings and has also excelled with his dribbling, ability to win regular duels as well as ball recoveries. It has been a good homecoming campaign for the Englishman.
Meanwhile, United stand to receive almost €4 million in bonus payments and could be set for another windfall if Dortmund manage to beat Madrid in the Champions League final.
In our opinion, winning the European competition could be the best possible outcome for United.
The Red Devils will obviously receive another bonus payment but on top of this, it would also enhance Sancho’s transfer value in case they look to sanction his sale this summer.
Sancho’s Transfermarkt valuation dropped to €25 million back in December, but it could easily double if he were to guide Dortmund to their second Champions League title.
United could also be tempted to keep him if he were to sort out his differences with Ten Hag.
The situation could be entirely different with a new manager at the helm but as things stand, Ten Hag continues to receive backing from the hierarchy despite the poor run of results.
