Jadon Sancho & Scott McTominay missing from travelling Man Utd squad to face Arsenal

Manchester United could be without Jadon Sancho and Scott McTominay for Sunday’s crucial Premier League clash against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

The Red Devils returned to winning ways last weekend with an impressive 3-2 comeback triumph over Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford.

They will be eyeing back-to-back victories before the international break, but could be without two of their key players against the Gunners.

United caught the train to London this afternoon with a 21-man squad.

Rasmus Hojlund, who has recovered from a back issue, has made the trip alongside deadline day signings Altay Bayindir, Sergio Reguilon and Jonny Evans.

Donny van de Beek and Eric Bailly have not travelled with their teammates, but that is unsurprising considering they are surplus to requirements.

Sofyan Amrabat’s absence was also expected. He signed the paperwork yesterday, but was not registered in time to face Arsenal in the current gameweek.

Raphael Varane, Luke Shaw, Mason Mount, Amad Diallo, Kobbie Mainoo, Tyrell Malacia and Tom Heaton are all injured.

Hence, McTominay and Sancho are the only genuine absentees for the trip to the English capital, and United have not provided any update on the duo.

Here is United’s squad to face the Gunners (as per Manchester Evening News)

Goalkeepers: Bayindir, Onana, Vitek

Defenders: Dalot, Evans, Lindelof, Maguire, Martinez, Reguilon, Wan-Bissaka

Midfielders: Casemiro, Eriksen, Hannibal, Fernandes, Gore

Forwards: Antony, Hojlund, Garnacho, Martial, Rashford, Pellistri

McTominay was linked with a move away from United on deadline day with interest from Fulham. However, manager Erik ten Hag decided to keep him.

The Scot has been a valuable member of the squad despite his limited playing time, and his unavailability could mean that he has suffered some kind of injury.

Meanwhile, Jadon Sancho has struggled for form since the start of the season, but he has been a regular in the matchday squads since his comeback in February.

We should get more clarity over the absence of the €70 million-rated duo (Transfermarkt) during Ten Hag’s pre-match comments before kick-off tomorrow.
