Jadon Sancho not part of Man Utd’s squad for upcoming friendlies in Spain

Manchester United have confirmed that Jadon Sancho won’t be involved in the upcoming training camp in Spain where they are scheduled to play a couple of friendlies.

The Red Devils will prepare for the resumption of their campaign with away games against Cadiz and Real Betis on December 7 and December 10 respectively.

The likes of David de Gea, Anthony Martial and Alejandro Garnacho will all be part of the trip, but there will be plenty of notable absentees due to the World Cup.

As many as 13 first-team regulars won’t be involved due to World Cup commitments and alongside them, Axel Tuanzebe and Sancho are also expected to miss out.

Tuanzebe has stayed back in Carrington as he recovers from his injury while Sancho is continuing his individual training programme to get back to his highest level.

Sancho was spotted working with coaches at OJC Rosmalen under Erik ten Hag’s advice last month.

Sancho has plenty to prove when the season restarts

Sancho had a bright pre-season campaign under Ten Hag and it was anticipated that he could be a key player. He started off the season brightly but his performances soon faded.

The 22-year-old scored a couple of key goals before the September international break. However, he struggled on the restart and was dropped to the bench after a few games.

Garnacho and Anthony Elanga were both preferred ahead of him by Ten Hag. Things only got worse for Sancho as he was ruled out with an illness before the World Cup break.

Sancho has plenty to prove when the season resumes. As things stand, Marcus Rashford, Anthony, Garnacho and Elanga are ahead of him in the pecking order for the wide attacking roles.

The €60 million-rated star will need to win back the confidence of the manager. Hopefully, his time in the Netherlands will prove beneficial for him during the back end of the season.
