Jadon Sancho impresses for Dortmund in 4-0 win over Darmstadt

Manchester United loanee Jadon Sancho delivered an impressive performance during Borussia Dortmund’s 4-0 win over Darmstadt in the final game of the Bundesliga season.

The England international rejoined Dortmund on loan at the beginning of the year and he has since been a regular part of the starting line-up under manager Edin Terzic.

Sancho started on the right wing in Saturday’s victory over Darmstadt. He completed 88 per cent of his passes, providing the assist for Julian Brandt’s 72nd minute goal.

Aside from this, the attacker won three ground duels and completed three take-ons. He created five chances before being substituted in the 73rd minute of the game.

The 24-year-old has registered six goal contributions in his 20 appearances for Dortmund this term and he will be aiming to end the season on a high with Champions League glory.

Dortmund will start as underdogs against perennial competition winners Real Madrid. Sancho will be aiming to rebuild his reputation with another stand-out performance.

The forward will return to United when pre-season begins this summer and it remains to be seen whether he could be reintegrated into the first-team plans for next season.

His rift with manager Erik ten Hag paved the way for a winter loan exit. If there is no resolution over the matter, the hierarchy are most likely to consider his permanent transfer.

Some of the fans will be hoping that the player and manager can sort out their differences. Sancho could also find himself back in favour if Ten Hag were to be dismissed.
