‘It looks good’: Erik ten Hag confirms triple injury boost ahead of Liverpool clash

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has confirmed a triple injury boost ahead of the FA Cup quarter-final against Liverpool this weekend.

The Red Devils returned to winning ways last weekend with a 2-0 Premier League win over Everton at Old Trafford. They will now be aiming to reach the last four of the FA Cup.

Jurgen Klopp’s side make the trip to Manchester on Sunday and ahead of the game, Ten Hag has confirmed good news on the injury front with three players available.

The manager revealed that Rasmus Hojlund, Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka have returned to the training pitch and were involved in today’s session before the presser.

The Dutchman added that things look good at the moment and the trio could be fit to play.

He told reporters: “We had a good week. The players you mention (Hojlund, Maguire and Wan-Bissaka) returned on the pitch, partly at the start of the week and today they had a session and are all training.”

“I think [they are going to be available]. Tomorrow we have one session. We have to see how they recover from this but it looks good.”

While United have been handed a triple injury boost, they won’t be with the services of Jonny Evans, who picked up a minor injury during the recent win over the Toffees at home.

The Northern Irishman has withdrawn from international duty as a result. Alongside him, Altay Bayindir won’t be in the matchday squad. The back-up keeper has a muscle strain.

United will start the FA Cup tie as slightly underdogs, but the fans should be delighted with Hojlund back in the mix. He has been in sensational form this year with seven goals.

The Dane scored in six consecutive league games before his unfortunate setback. He will be crucial for United up front on Sunday as they look to beat their fierce rivals.
