Inter Milan reportedly make last-minute Harry Maguire enquiry

Italian giants Inter Milan have made a last-minute enquiry to sign Manchester United centre-back Harry Maguire.

That’s according to a report from the Daily Mail who claim that Inter want to sign the 29-year-old United defender on loan.

However, it is suggested that Maguire wants to remain at Old Trafford until the summer before deciding on his future.

The England international joined United from Leicester City in 2019 for around £80 million (BBC).

He hasn’t hit the heights expected of him at United, and his future is currently shrouded in doubt.

Inter Milan make Harry Maguire approach

On the eve of transfer deadline day, the Nerazzurri enquired about taking the centre-back on loan for the remainder of the season, with an option to buy him in the summer.

It seems as though the England international wants to remain at Old Trafford and Maguire undoubtedly has a lot to offer United.

Just look how good he was for England at the World Cup out in Qatar. He lacks confidence at the moment, and it won’t be easy for him to force his way back into the side ahead of Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez.

However, it’s those kind of challenges that the very best players relish. So whatever happens over the next few days, weeks and months, we will all have a better understanding of how up for the fight the former Leicester man is.

Whether Inter will keep pushing to sign him between now and tomorrow’s 11.00 pm deadline will be intriguing to watch.
