Inter Milan eyeing loan deal for Rasmus Hojlund with buy clause

Inter Milan are exploring a loan deal for Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund with an option to buy, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Denmark international had a difficult campaign with the Red Devils last term. He netted 10 goals, but only four of those were in the Premier League.

This has sparked speculation about his future, and Gazzetta dello Sport claim that the Nerazzurri are aiming to land him on an initial loan agreement.

Inter’s chief executive Piero Ausilio was in London yesterday. He made initial contact with the Red Devils to understand Hojlund’s current situation.

United seem open to cutting their losses on Hojlund. Inter plan to propose a loan deal with a buy clause worth €45 million. The option could become an obligation if certain conditions are met.

Man Utd could offload Hojlund to land new striker

The Red Devils signed the 22-year-old from Atalanta for an overall package worth €85m in 2023.

He had a decent debut campaign with 10 league goals, which included a six-game scoring streak.

Hojlund was anticipated to improve in his second year, but things went pear-shaped for him.

The Dane managed only four league goals and was guilty of missing some clear-cut chances.

United need an upgrade on Hojlund if they want to compete at the top of the league table.

In our view, the club are most likely to offload Hojlund to pursue a new centre-forward.

Inter seem determined to land him, but United should demand an obligatory buy clause as part of a season-long loan agreement.

In that way, they would be guaranteed a transfer fee at the end of the 2025/26 campaign.

The club must avoid including a penalty clause. Chelsea recently capitalised on the same to back out of an agreement to sign Jadon Sancho.
