If Jesse Lingard wants out, United should let him go

Manchester United attacking midfielder Jesse Lingard is set to demand an exit from the club this summer, according to Eurosport.

Lingard has been left “frustrated and unimpressed by the lack of faith Ole Gunnar Solskjaer showed in him”.

West Ham signed Lingard in January on a loan deal until the end of the season. However, the deal does not involve a clause to make the move permanent.

Before joining West Ham, the 28-year old made just three appearances for the Red Devils in cup competitions this season.

The move to the London club has given him a new lease of life. The midfielder has scored nine goals and registered four assists.

After demonstrating his abilities, the England international wants to leave Old Trafford behind and move to a club that can give him more first-team action.

West Ham are having an amazing Premier League campaign as they aim to finish in the top four. 

They are just three points off fourth-placed Chelsea and Lingard has been the catalyst behind their charge to finish in the Champions League spots. 

However, Solskjaer has plenty of options in his preferred position, with Bruno Fernandes undoubtedly the pick of the bunch.

Lingard turns 29 in December and will probably want the last big contract of his career.

The Red Devils will also seek a higher transfer fee due to the dramatic upturn in his form.

Lingard’s departure this summer seems to be the best option for all parties.
