Ander Herrera has praised United’s travelling support, describing them as “fantastic” in the wake of United’s 3-1 win at Preston in the fifth round of the FA Cup.
Some 5,000 Reds made the trip to Deepdale on Monday night, supporting the team in a typically loud, boisterous, fashion.
“The support is always fantastic and it means a lot to us. Today here in Preston’s stadium they were fantastic,” said the Spaniard.
“They supported us at a tough moment and we are grateful for that. We won for them because after the first goal they pushed us for the victory.”
United will face Arsenal in the quarter finals as they look for a first FA Cup semifinal since 2011 and Herrera is aware Arsene Wenger’s men will prove a stern test.
“We have to keep playing in this competition [and it will be] against Arsenal who are one of the best teams at the moment,” he said
“But we are Manchester United and have a very good spirit and we showed it today. We have very good players and very good staff and we are going to improve.”
