Manchester United’s proposed move for Real Madrid striker Luka Jovic seems to be off.
According to Italian transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, Jovic is not going to leave the Spanish capital this summer.
This is partly due to the move of another Madrid striker Borja Mayoral to Italian club AS Roma.
Luka Jovic has had a rough first season at the Santiago Bernabeu. His return of just two goals in 27 appearances is not acceptable to a big club like Real Madrid. Even not after the club paid close to £55 million to get him.
Luka Jovic joined Real Madrid from German side Eintracht Frankfurt. His not so stellar performances and flagrant breaking of rules had put him on the outs with the manager. Zidane was not pleased with the Serbian striker and preferred Mayoral to him.
A loan deal was the perfect opportunity for Real Madrid to get him out of Spain and let him rediscover his touch elsewhere. He’s valued at £28m
AC Milan and Manchester United were interested in securing his signature.
