Manchester United legend Peter Schmeichel has heaped praise on Rasmus Hojlund following his outstanding performance against Luton Town in the Premier League.
The Red Devils registered a fourth successive league win after beating the Hatters on the road. Hojlund made the difference, scoring two quick goals after just seven minutes.
Speaking after the 2-1 win, Schmeichel lauded the showing of his compatriot. The Dane said that Hojlund could easily become a 25 to 30 goal striker for the Red Devils.
The legendary goalkeeper added that he has got everything in his locker, he told Premier League productions: “Rasmus Hojlund is only 21 but he could become that guy who scores 25, 30 goals a season.”
“We saw today he’s got everything in his locker. He’s strong, he gets chances and he scores goals. The team needs to understand him a bit better but there are no boundaries to what this guy can achieve. He is so good.”
The 21-year-old created a new Premier League record on Sunday evening. He became the youngest-ever player to score in six consecutive matches in the competition’s history.
Aside from his brace, Hojlund also won seven ground and aerial duels over 86 minutes. He was also brilliant with his long ball distribution and had a 100 per cent success rate (4/4).
Hojlund is definitely leaving up to his high potential after an indifferent start to his United career and the fans will be hoping that he can continue his rich vein of scoring form.
United’s win over Luton has taken them within five points off fourth-placed Aston Villa. The club should fancy their chances of making the top four if they can keep on winning.
The Red Devils entertain Fulham at Old Trafford in their next Premier League game.
