‘He has been excellent’, Wes Brown heaps praise on Manchester United star

Manchester United favourite Wes Brown has heaped praise on midfielder Bruno Fernandes, who has enjoyed an impressive beginning to his career with the Red Devils.

The Portuguese made the switch to Old Trafford from Sporting Lisbon prior to the January transfer deadline following weeks of negotiations with the Primeira Liga outfit.

Fernandes has since featured regularly in an attacking midfield role for United and he has made a strong impression with three goals and three assists from six starts in all competitions.

Meanwhile, the 26-year-old has also caught the eye with his quick decision-making in the final third and he has already come up with a number of key passes in the lead-up to goals scored by his teammates.

As a result, he has quickly become a favourite among the club’s supporters and has been voted as the man of the match on five occasions already.

Speaking to Goal.com, Brown heaped praise on Fernandes and said that the Red Devils have been missing a player of the Portuguese’s calibre over the past few years.

“Fernandes has come in and changed the whole team. He is the type of player United have been missing. He wants to get on the ball and get those little dinks over the top and he has some special moves. He has been excellent and I think the team has bounced off him coming in and they just keep improving with him in it,” he told.

Fernandes has contributed a goal or an assist in four of the club’s previous five appearances in all competitions and he is expected to feature for United when they face LASK in the Europa League tonight.

The Red Devils are favourites for the first leg of the round of 16 tie on the road. The club are currently unbeaten in 10 games across all competitions where they have scored 24 goals and kept eight clean sheets in the process.
