Manchester United’s former captain, Harry Maguire, wants to repay the faith shown by the club’s supporters.
In an interview with MUTV, he discussed United’s transfer business this summer.
INEOS have enjoyed a solid window until now, signing Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko to complete the overhaul of their attack.
Maguire spoke glowingly about the Slovenian but also demanded patience from the supporters.
He said: “Signing new players helps with thinking of it as a fresh start.
“I haven’t trained too much with him yet. He’s a big size, a unit, for his age. I’m sure he’s going to cause a lot of defenders problems.
“He is still young, and we’ve got to remember that as a club and as a fan base.”
Standing at 6ft 5in, Sesko has all the characteristics to be a menace to defenders.
He is good in the air and possesses a knack for firing explosive shots when given space.
Despite his tall frame, the 22-year-old has a quick burst of acceleration which helps him make runs in the channels.
Maguire is confident that Sesko could have a great career at the Theatre of Dreams.
The England international added: “He is got all the attributes to contribute to the team and to contribute to this club for many years to come, so we’ll give him our full backing and fingers crossed he scores many goals for us!”
Sesko is considered one of the most promising strikers in the world.
He netted 39 goals and eight assists in 87 games for RB Leipzig.
He had a gentleman’s agreement with the German side to leave if a big club met their asking price.
United offered a package worth £73.6 million, which was too good for Leipzig to turn down.
His arrival has pushed Rasmus Hojlund to the brink of United’s exit.
Joshua Zirkzee and Chido Obi are likely to provide cover for Sesko in the number nine spot.
Despite making his move to Old Trafford last weekend, United fans will be hoping to see him start against Arsenal in the opening Premier League encounter on Sunday.
