Former Manchester United captain Harry Maguire has heaped praise on the two midfield summer signings.
Man United completed the signings of Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans last month.
Santos has featured in every friendly so far this summer, while Tielemans finally made his unofficial debut against Paris Saint-Germain.
Maguire lauded the impact the former Chelsea ace is already making at United.
He said: “Andrey Santos has been amazing since minute one of the preseason and you can really feel the progress he is making already.”
The 22-year-old has looked remarkably comfortable in the holding midfield role, but faces the daunting task of filling the void left by Casemiro.
There were plenty of raised eyebrows when United agreed to pay £48 million for Santos, but his early performances suggest Chelsea may have let a serious talent leave for less than his true value.
He looks set to start in the number six spot when United kick off their Premier League season against Hull City later this month.
Maguire and Tielemans shared the dressing room for a few months at Leicester City.
The 33-year-old was equally enthusiastic when discussing his former Leicester team-mate.
He said: “I played with him at Leicester for a few months so I know the ability and talent that he has.
“He’s at an age now where he’s going to come in. I’m sure he’s not going to need settling in.
“He’s going to come in and be a big player for this club. And he’s a top player. I know that.”
Tielemans was given just 25 minutes against PSG, but his cameo offered an early glimpse of why United were prepared to trigger his £35m release clause.
His first instinct was to look forward and search for a pass that could unlock the opposition, but when the route was blocked, he showed the maturity to recycle possession safely.
He may not be the most explosive runner in midfield, but his experience and football intelligence allow him to read situations several steps ahead.
